Japan expansion for in-vehicle payment innovator

Japan expansion for in-vehicle payment innovator

We’ve been appointed by US-based Sheeva.AI to sell its in-vehicle payment and location-based services in Japan.

Sheeva.AI’s technology enables drivers to pay for parking, fuel, charging, tolls and other services directly from their car.

Using precise location systems and an in-vehicle digital wallet, it detects the vehicle at its current parking spot, fuel pump or EV charger and enables payment via the in-vehicle infotainment screen or auto maker’s mobile app.

Sheeva.AI has already been making waves in Asia as, in April, it rolled out its in-vehicle payment technology for Citroën C3 Aircross SUV vehicles in India – enabling their drivers to pay for fuel at 32,000 stations nationwide.

The company is now looking to collaborate with retailers and automotive OEMs in Japan as the next step in its expansion plans.

Sheeva.AI CEO, Evgeny Klochikhin (pictured), said: “Last year, we decided on the global automotive hub that is Japan as a key market for expansion. Intralink’s experience in scaling up technologies in new markets is exactly what we need as we make in-vehicle services more compelling for every Japanese driver.”

Will Jasprizza, Managing Director of Intralink Japan, said: “We’re sure of the market potential of Sheeva.AI’s product suite in Japan’s consumer market – one which is ripe for digital innovation. Finding technologies like Sheeva.AI’s that are ready for rapid growth can be challenging, but they’ve put in the work in other markets and are now all set to scale in Japan.”
