Solid Power is a Colorado-based developer of all-solid-state EV batteries. The company brought us on board to engage potential investors in Japan and China as part of its $20M Series A fundraising roadshow.

We engaged 200 Asian corporations before taking Solid Power to meet a shortlist of 40 over two weeks in China and Japan. 

We ultimately secured an investment of $4M USD from Sanoh Industrial, a major Japanese producer of powertrain and fuel injector technologies.

Bidgely, a California-based home energy monitoring and management solution company, had received interest from Japan but needed Intralink to provide a local physical presence to drive forward existing discussions.

We took up discussions with the top 3 Japanese utilities (eventually adding 5 more to the list of targets) and secured a POC with Chubu Electric Power.

In late 2017, based on the advanced stage of discussions with key customers, Bidgely invested in Japan and established its own local subsidiary. In January, 2020, we were excited to see the official announcement of Bidgely’s full commercial deployment with TEPCO EP.

Cambridge university spin-out Echion was keen to seek opportunities in Asia, as its patented XNO® anode material for lithium-ion batteries was ideal for battery cell manufacturers and industrial machinery OEMs based in the region.

Our teams in Japan, Korea and China initiated conversations with more than 100 key industrial and battery players – and Echion’s value proposition was very well received.

We helped Echion sign MTAs (material transfer agreements) with half a dozen major players in the space, and even attracted potential investors for Echion’s next funding round.

We are continuing to uncover new opportunities and fine-tune Echion's long-term Asia strategy.
