The job
As BD Manager, you’ll be interacting with top Japanese tech innovators daily – through emails, calls, F2F meetings, events and trade show visits. You’ll be identifying your targets and building relationships, developing proposals and closing deals.
You’ll be engaging with the Singapore branches of Japanese firms and their HQ counterparts. You’ll aim to understand their growth plans for overseas markets and discuss how our in-market research, innovation and business development support services can accelerate their expansion plans. You’ll also be engaging with clients post-sale.
You’ll often be talking to APAC VPs, GMs and CTOs. You don’t need a deep technical background, but you should be able quickly to grasp the commercial and technical value propositions of companies across a range of high-growth sectors including software, renewables, medtech & life sciences and electronics.
You’ll have a full suite of tools at your disposal – from Salesforce CRM and Sales Navigator to a library of company decks and templates – as well as the day-to-day support and collective experience of your colleagues.

What you'll need
- Excellent spoken and written Japanese and English – to get complex ideas across to prospects and understand the intricacies of their business
- An understanding of the Japanese business ecosystem in Singapore/SE Asia – to identify the right companies and people to engage
- An understanding of the Singaporean business, venture capital and tech environment – to collaborate with additional partners and further expand your network
- Ideally, knowledge of SE Asia, India, China, Korea and Taiwan– to relate to our company’s history and mission
- A genuine interest in technology, sustainability and international business – to pitch Intralink confidently and passionately
- 3+ years of sales/BD experience in relevant technology sectors such as software, renewables, medtech & life sciences, electronics – to bring your own contacts and flair to the job
- Experience of building an initiative from the ground up, with demonstratable results
- The ability to work independently while being very much a part of a team
- A university degree in business, management, or in a technical/engineering field
- Currently based in Singapore
