mnubo, a Montreal-based IoT analytics company, had secured its first Japanese client, ITSCom. But it needed to scale its Japanese operations quickly to provide support on the ground, close leads and build a healthy pipeline. 

Despite relatively low cloud adoption and other systemic issues, we helped mnubo secure sales with Johnson Controls-Hitachi, Yanmar, NS Solutions and iTSCOM, recruited local staff and organised its first ‘AIoT Summit’ in Tokyo - attended by over 150 industry executives – putting the firm in a strong position to operate independently in Japan. 

We then moved our focus to Korea, targeting companies in the smart factory field, prior to and after mnubo’s acquisition by Aspen Technology.

Kathrein-Werke AG, which was founded in Bavaria in 1919,  develops and markets mobile antennas and has over 9000 employees. As part of its global strategy it was keen to understand the opportunity for its IoT and infotainment solutions in China and Japan which it saw as a key target for growth.

We engaged multiple stakeholders in both territories with a view to identifying potential customers and partners, and developing a global strategy for expansion. Our work contributed to the decision by Kathrein to sell its antenna and filters business to Ericsson in 2019.

Sigfox appointed us to support the growth of its business in Japan.

Our mission  was to secure a "Sigfox network operator", a local partner with the right level of experience, resources and infrastructure. The outcome was a large deal with  KYOCERA Communication Systems (KCCS) who have been overseeing a nationwide roll-out of the network.

We then went on to support Sigfox's expansion in Korea and China.
