We’re working with CognitionPoint, the US-based educational technology company, to secure a lead investor in China. CognitionPoint’s directors are over in China with our team this week.
This is the latest in a series of projects in the fast-growing ‘edtech’ field, with our other clients including EducationCity, Texthelp and GlobalExam.
CognitionPoint is a developer of language learning tools which use cutting-edge research and technology. Its unique technology synchronises text with audio and video, displaying each word as it’s spoken, with a cloud-based web app enabling learning anytime, anywhere.
The firm’s initial focus is on promoting its English-language text and audio comprehension tools, but the technology is equally applicable to video-based applications and other languages.
Our task is to support CognitionPoint’s capital raising programme by identifying investment partners in China’s edtech sector.
So far, we’ve contacted over 200 strategic and financial investors — including major Chinese education, training and e-learning corporations — and lined up six strong contenders. CognitionPoint’s directors are with us in China this week to meet these companies and discuss the investment opportunity.
Frank Waldman, CognitionPoint CEO, says: “The Intralink team has been exceptional in connecting us with Chinese edtech investors. They’ve set up a busy week of meetings with qualified candidates. I would strongly recommend Intralink to other firms seeking to expand in Asia.”
