Intralink is a Gold Sponsor of this year’s IPBC Global, the worldwide intellectual property event taking place in San Francisco next week, 10 to 12 June. Our co-sponsors include Philips, Google, GE, Microsoft and Uber.
Alan Mockridge, President of our North American operation, and Will Jasprizza, Head of our Global IP Group, will be there. The conference is sold out, but if you have a ticket to attend, Alan and Will would welcome the opportunity to meet you there.
IPBC Global, now in its eleventh year, is the annual gathering of hundreds of international IP business leaders. The event includes keynote speeches, debates, seminars, masterclasses and networking events.
It’s a prime event for us to support because intellectual property is a core part of our international business development service.
We enable US and European companies to commercialise their intellectual property in East Asia by selling or licensing their patents – and have secured deals for them totalling over $100 million. We have close relationships amongst the senior ranks of the IP departments of major corporations in China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan and regularly conduct roadshows to present them with new IP opportunities. We also help Asian firms, which are currently showing great appetite for new intellectual property assets, to acquire or license Western technologies.
Our IP projects have included:
- Securing licensing deals worth millions of dollars for British group BTG plc with some of Japan’s best-known companies including NTT, Fujitsu, Hitachi and NEC
- Identifying Chinese licensees for Plaxica’s technologies which convert waste streams into high-value products in the chemicals, food and bioplastics sectors
- Licensing P2i’s liquid repellent nano-coating technology to two of China’s top three smartphone manufacturers, Huawei and TCL, generating millions of dollars of royalties and expanding its customer base to multiple tier-two OEMs
In addition to IPBC Global next week, we’ll be sponsoring IPBC Japan in Tokyo in September. This will bring together 200 senior IP executives from Japanese companies, research institutions and government agencies plus their international counterparts.
If you’re planning to be at IPBC Global next week or IPBC Japan in the autumn, or if we could otherwise support you with any IP assignments, please get in touch with Will Jasprizza on will.jasprizza@intralinkgroup.com.
