We’re proud to be one of only 13 companies across the USA to be presented with a President’s E Award for Export Service today. Our award is based on our track record of enabling North American companies to expand in East Asia.
Here’s Alan Mockridge, head of our North American operation (below right), and Sol Bergen Bartel, VP Business Development (left) being given our certificate by US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross (far left) and Under Secretary Gilbert Kaplan, in Washington this morning.
Wilbur Ross told us: “Intralink has been selected to receive the President's E Award for Export Service in recognition of your achievement in making significant contributions to an increase in US exports.
“The E Awards Committee was impressed with Intralink's record of helping companies from Missouri achieve more than $10 million in export sales to Japan and South Korea in the past two years. Your customized, innovative marketing strategies, which resulted in measurable export growth for your clients, were particularly notable. Your achievements have undoubtedly contributed to national export expansion that supports the US economy and creates American jobs.”
And here's a short clip (1:44 mins) of us being presented with the award
Applicants for the President’s E Award need to demonstrate successive years of record export growth and an innovative approach to international expansion to be in with a chance of winning.
We submitted information on how we’ve enabled US companies to grow in China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, backed up by detailed case studies on our work with three US clients: the State of Missouri, protein engineering company Codexis and storage tech firm Panasas.
Alan and Sol may be firmly clutching the certificate today, but our award recognises the hard work and talent of all of our employees – not least our people on the ground in East Asia who are driving our clients’ growth in the region.
And, of course, it’s a huge endorsement of our US clients – for their drive and ambition in expanding overseas and the success we’ve achieved together.
Our Presidential Award can go up on our wall alongside the Queen’s Award for Enterprise which we won on the other side of the Atlantic — presented to us last year in Buckingham Palace. The Queen’s Awards recognise ‘outstanding achievements by UK businesses’ and are the most prestigious official accolades for British companies.
